We thought it was time to begin with the olive harvest. This year we're going green. The olives are only partly ripe and they have not started falling. The ladders were not long enough to reach most of them, and as they were overhanging the neighbour's property and the tree needs strong pruning, Steve sawed off a lot of branches and we harvested off them once they were on the ground. This year's harvest is small, perhaps double what we've got so far from both trees., Perhaps five to ten kilograms. We pruned very late and perhaps cut off a lot of flower buds a few months back. We've had years when there were thirty five kilos off one tree. We'll finish harvesting first and then I'll show photographs of the prepping and soaking in brine etc.
