September is the season of flower shows in the country, such as the Darling Wild Flower show, the Hopefield, Caledon and Clanwilliam shows. Most of these pictures are taken near Darling during the flower show, at the Tinie Versveld nature reserve (my grandma's brother), in the Renosterveld, where you can see the rolling green hills with the two little white houses and the fresh water dam at the back, and on the way there where you can see highway and fence posts and you can recognize the fynbos by the presence of Restios, the fine dark clumps of reeds, and a trip to the beach at Haakgat (Strandveld) on the West Coast recognizable by succulents and lots of white sand and sea or mountain views.
