This is the linking page to albums of wild flowers around Cape Town. Beware, they are huge, because of the enormous diversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom , that is world famous. The diversity is partly due to regional endemism caused by a patchwork of microclimates and isolated valleys, and the different vegetation types in the Cape Fynbos biome, Mountain Fynbos (on degenerated granite), lowlands acid plain Fynbos (on leached sand), Strandveld (near the sea on deep sand), Renosterveld (on low lying clays and granite), and Afromontaine forest (in the mountain ravines). This is further diversified by the presence of shallow lakes in the rainy season, and seeps, with permanent water. The size of these albums is also due to the fact that every natural arrangement of colours and form is unique and wonderful, and can be studied to learn about natural landscape design, of which I'm a fan, as shown by my pinterest garden design page,. Thus these albums are visual, rather than botanical collections, they are a mix of all the vegetation types arranged by month.
